Moulsford has celebrated a lot of firsts at the start of this new school year. We have opened the doors for the first time to our brand new state-of-the-art standalone Pre-Prep building, we have welcomed the first cohort of our new Pre-School, our first female pupil, six new teaching staff and of course our two Reception classes beginning their very first day at ‘big school’. It was a momentous first day of term for them all as they embarked on their Moulsford journey.

It has been fantastic to see our brand new Pre-Prep building full of noise and activity since the start of the term. The children are all making use of their new space and exploring all of the wonderful things that are on offer to them. It has been particularly exciting to see our first ever Pre-School class, the Bobcats, enjoying exploring their indoor and outdoor environment. They have had their first Forest School lesson learning about underground and overground, they have been balancing, jumping and climbing on their fantastic new play equipment, and getting to know new friends.

The boys in Reception have been painting self-portraits and having their first experience of Playball with Mr. MacKinnon, which has been very popular!

Year 1 has begun to explore their animal topic, All Creatures Great and Small.  They have produced some exceptional self-portraits (clothed in school uniform), the basic body parts of which they have labeled with impressive neatness.  They hosted a tea party for their animal friends, performed the song Animal Fair, wrote about themselves, used their brains to solve number problems, engaged in literature, played, and - very importantly - settled together as a team.

Our Pre-Prep is driven by the overriding importance of ensuring every child feels safe and secure within our environment to empower them to make the very most out of our facilities and talented staff. To finally be able to open the doors to the new building was hugely momentous and we are very proud of the first-class facilities on offer. The extra space created for the Pre-Prep boys as well as the older boys on the Prep School site will provide even more opportunities for the children to thrive.

If you would like to enquire about your child joining our Pre-School or Pre-Prep, or for more information, please do not hesitate to contact Jill Morrin our Registrar at admissions@moulsford.com.
