What is the Mentoring Scheme?
Within the Moulsford Community, we wish to offer Old Moles at the start of their career journey or thinking of changing careers, some expertise, guidance and networking tips from those within the community who are more established in their chosen careers.
By choosing to volunteer as a Mentor, you can help in a number of ways. If you would like to share your career story, we can feature it as an article on Old Moles Connect, to act as inspiration for others within the community. If you are prepared to speak to the Moulsford boys about your work, Henry Weeks, our Head of Humanities, runs lunchtime talks, which take place in person or through zoom and act to broaden the boys’ horizons. As a Mentor, you can be on our Mentor list indicating your field of work expertise, which enables other Old Moles, who wish to make contact with a specialist in their chosen career, to connect with you securely through this platform and seek advice.
The Benefits to Mentors
By volunteering as a Mentor, you can share your professional experience and insights with Old Moles, who are interested in your chosen field, and in so doing develop your coaching skills. The opportunity will also provide you with the satisfaction of helping those within the Moulsford community develop their confidence and progress within their chosen career.
The Role of the Mentor
The role of the Mentor is to support and advise the Old Mole in the career journey, which may be as they start their journey or at a point in which they are seeking to change career direction. The mentor can advise on the dynamics of their chosen career, sector, or industry and give insightful tips to those interested in pursuing a career in the same chosen field. The mentor’s role may include providing one-to-one advice with CV writing and interview skills, giving networking advice and or supplying useful contacts.
How Mentees find Mentors
Mentees can access the list of Mentors by logging into Old Moles Connect using their registered login and will be able to make contact through the platform. Mentor’s personal contact details are not accessible. Mentees can see the list of Mentors and the areas of work in which they are involved and then make contact securely through the website.
