Moulsford’s fourth year of High Performance Lunchtimes began with some very special visitors for the boys both on zoom and in person.
Our first week of the series contained Emma Timmis and Johann Van Graan. Amongst other things, Emma has run the whole length of New Zealand! Johann is the current Bath rugby coach who highlighted the importance of treating others as you would like to be treated.
Week two saw us welcome Alfie Watts and Squash Falconer. Alfie was the winner of Race Across the World and Squash is an adventurer. Alfie spent a whole hour with boys from Years 5 to 8 and highlighted many of the benefits of travel. He talked about the countries he has visited and how in his experience those with the least are prepared to give the most. Squash left us with a positive analogy of life being like picking blackberries and sometimes the hardest blackberries give you the best rewards!
We have also welcomed Elise Downing who shared some great stories and messages from her journey running the whole way round the UK coastline including the benefits of a ‘why not!’ attitude.
High Performance Lunchtimes are a weekly speaker series designed to help children at Moulsford learn about life through the experiences of others.
