Tom Digby (Old Mole Class of 2011) rowing for Oxford Brookes University, in a combined crew with Leander Club, emerged victorious with the crew becoming champions of the hugely prestigious Grand Challenge Cup, having beaten the Canadian team in the final. Tom is rowing in the GB squad for the second year running, and is current World and European Champion in the men’s eight.
Sam Hayes-Newington (Class of 2017) also competed at Henley Regatta for Marlow Rowing Club, the sport having taken centre stage during his gap year before he starts at Medical School this coming September. Fellow club rower Max Hearnden (leaver in 2009) also rowed for Marlow Rowing Club in the Britannia Challenge Cup. Nickelby Simmonds, another 2017 leaver, competed in the Prince Albert Challenge Cup for Edinburgh University.
Hector Harvey (Old Mole 2019) raced in the Radley College crew competing in the Princess Elizabeth Challenge Cup. The crew competed brilliantly throughout to get to the semi-final, only to be beaten by the ultimate winners, St Edward’s School.
Huge congratulations to all the Old Moles involved!
